Getting Back On Track

08/23/22

Hey!

It's been a minute, I've been busy.

Way back when I started Game Design Journey, I took on a little too much. That seems to be a bad habit of mine. Since then, I scaled back a lot in order to focus on one thing at a time. The first thing I had to tackle was my relationship with work, which started going wrong two years ago.

The year of our lord 2020 was a horrible one for me, and my work really suffered for it. It got to the point that they almost checked the "underperforming" box during my review, a terrifying thought when the entire economy was hit hard. Ever since then, I dedicated myself to getting better. This meant dedicating less time to what I love so much: games!

After such a long grind, I can happily say that I got my first big promotion while at Microsoft!

This is huge for a number of reasons. Most importantly it serves as a milestone of success and a (somewhat arbitrary) jumping off point. I do have other goals, after all.

There's always more to say, but here's the high level of what I'm focusing on:

This is mostly an entry for myself. To celebrate, just a little bit.
